Joan Moss Page passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, from natural causes, leaving behind a legacy of deep love, unwavering faith, and quiet strength.

Born November 25, 1935, to Everett and Emily Flint Moss, Joan (pronounced Jo-anne) was raised in the family home at the end of Gentile in Layton, Utah. As a young girl, she was spirited and adventurous—a self-proclaimed tomboy who loved riding her horse across open fields all the way to the shores of the Great Salt Lake. That same determination and independence would become defining traits throughout her life.

Joan believed deeply in the potential of women and quietly but firmly proved—both to herself and to others—that she could accomplish anything she set her mind to. She was the first in her family to earn a college education, a milestone she achieved through hard work and resolve. Throughout her life, she supported and participated in women’s organizations, encouraging others—especially her daughters and granddaughters, to pursue their own ambitions with confidence.

A proud graduate of Davis High School, Joan later attended BYU, where she met her eternal companion, George Dee Page, at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. They were married on July 18, 1958, beginning a partnership rooted in love, faith, and devotion that would span 66 years until Dee’s passing just one year ago.

Together, Joan and Dee built a beautiful life centered on family. They were blessed with 8 children, 27 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 3 more on the way. Joan’s greatest joy was her family. She nurtured, taught, and loved not only her own children, but also countless others who came into her life—each one made to feel seen, valued, and loved.

In 1972, Joan helped bring to life her dream home in Kaysville, Utah, built with the hands of her father, brother, and brother-in-law. That home became the heart of her family, friends and neighbors for over 50 years—a place of gathering, music, laughter, and enduring memories.

Joan dedicated her professional life to teaching, a calling she embraced with patience and compassion. She began her career in Brigham City later teaching at Farmington Elementary and Whitesides Elementary in Layton. To her students, she was more than a teacher—she was a steady, caring presence who left a lasting impression on many “adopted” children she guided along the way.

Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Joan served faithfully in many callings, particularly those involving music. She shared her talents as a ward organist and primary pianist, using music to uplift and strengthen those around her. Music was one of her great loves, and it was often the language through which she expressed her testimony and joy.

Joan also had a deep love for family history and genealogy. She and Dee served together as genealogy missionaries for eight years and later in the Bountiful Utah Temple, continuing their shared devotion to faith and family.

Joan is survived by her eight children: DeAnn Draper; Michele (Alan) Thompson; Shauna (Jim) Griffin; Jeran (Jodi) Page; Trevor (Annette) Page; Bryant (Annmarie) Page; Kevin (Shawnette) Page; and Curtis (Megan) Page. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the many lives she touched as a mother, teacher, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents and siblings, her grandsons Andrew Draper and James Griffin, and her son-in-law Brent Draper.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers of Aspire Home Health and Hospice, especially Norma, whose kindness and patience brought great comfort, as well as to the staff at Whisper Cove Assisted Living in Kaysville.
