Jerry Nathan Greer

August 17, 1942 — May 27, 2022

Jerry died quietly at home after a short battle with cancer at the age of 79.
He was born in Salt Lake City to Mac and Minnie Greer, and died in Centerville, Utah.
He went to East High School, then Fort Ord, California for Army basic training, and finally to Seattle for additional training. He joined and loved the SLC Fire Department, retiring with the rank of Captain after 29 years. After retirement, he moved with his wife Janet, to Duchesne where they spent many happy years, before moving to, and loving Centerville, UT.
Jerry was honest, kind, and caring, always willing to change his own plans if someone was in need. He and Janet built small farmsteads wherever they called home, sharing their bounty with those around them, never asking for something in return.
Survived by his wife of 50 years, Janet Stoddart, sister Joann Barton (Dave); and two children that he loved dearly: Lisa Greer – Seattle, WA, Aleta Cantwell (Tim) – Mountain Home, ID; as well as, three grandchildren (Mandie Brown, Marshall Brown, and Andy Cantwell), and four great grandchildren (Anthony Romero, Cannon Brown, Carter Brown, Rogan Brown).
Viewing and Funeral Services will be held Monday June 6, 2022 at the Centerville 7th Ward, 270 North 300 East, where friends and family may visit from 9:30 am, with Funeral Services starting at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 East 4580 South, Millcreek.
