Listen to Obituary

Jennifer Ann Whittington Petersen passed away on July 18, 2026, after a short battle with a rare and aggressive brain cancer. She spent her final moments surrounded by the people she loved most, who love and admire her more than words can describe.

Jenn was born on February 17, 1970, in Seattle, Washington, to Laurel Dee Whittington and Mary Andrea Parker. She was the second of three children and the only daughter, growing up alongside her brothers Dave and Kenneth. As a young child, her family moved to Utah where Jenn would spend the majority of her childhood.

She graduated from Viewmont High School in 1988, where she was a member of the National Honor Society and excelled academically. After high school, Jenn spent time at Ricks College in Idaho before marrying in 1989 through 2017, during which she welcomed her four children: sons Parker, Taylor, and Chase, and daughter Annie.

In August 2021, Jenn met her love and soulmate, Guy Partridge. The two shared many wonderful adventures traveling the world together. They visited places such as Jamaica, Mexico, and her favorite place, Hawaii. One of her favorite parts about traveling was seeing and engaging with all the wildlife. She cherished the memories of whale watching and releasing baby turtles into the ocean.

The two became engaged in Puerto Vallarta in November 2025. They enjoyed going on motorcycle rides together and spending time in the in-home theatre that Guy built for her.

In 2025, Jenn became a grandmother to two beautiful granddaughters, Lennon and Gwen. She loved and saved every picture of her grandbabies and was always on the lookout for new baby clothes and toys that she could spoil them with.

She also loved being a mom and grandmother to Guy’s four children: Brysen, McAllan, Gavin, and Brightley and three grandchildren: Brecken, Adeline, and William.

Jenn loved spending time with her family and loved ones, whether that meant going out and doing something fun or staying in to watch TV and movies together. She was an appreciator of life's little moments and little things, known fondly for her love of favorite TV shows, characters, and trinkets she collected.

Above all else, Jenn prioritized and loved her family. She never hesitated to sacrifice her own time or resources for others. During the economic downturn of 2008, she re-entered the workforce after many years at home with her children, working tirelessly to make sure her family had what they needed. She held a variety of jobs over the course of her adult life, starting with work like house cleaning and early childhood education before transitioning into a corporate environment, where she worked in HR within the supplement manufacturing industry.

She became especially knowledgeable and heavily relied upon in her field, eventually running an entire HR department. She brought a great energy to her work and people loved being around her. She made many lifelong friends during her career and left a lasting impact on the lives of those she worked with.

Jenn was very creative and spent a lot of time during her children’s early years taking many pictures and videos and creating scrap books to record memories. These continue to be treasured by her family today.

She was a gatherer and loved to bring people together for special occasions and had a way of making regular days feel special. People loved to be around her and she lit up any room she was in. She loved to make her famous desserts (including her delicious brownies) for her family and friends.

Jenn is survived by her fiancé, Guy Partridge; her mother, Andrea Whittington, her brother Dave (Telma) Whittington, her children, Parker (Olivia) Petersen, Taylor (Desi) Petersen, Chase Petersen, and Annie (Cannon) Purpura; and her granddaughters, Lennon Petersen and Gwen Petersen. She was preceded in death by her father, Dee Whittington, and her brother, Kenneth Whittington.

Jenn will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
