Jennifer Lindsey Nielson

Jennifer Lindsey Nielson was born on September 14, 1982, at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Dev and Vicky Nielson. As the third child in the family, she was the baby girl her parents had hoped for, and from the moment she arrived, she brought a special warmth, joy, and light to their lives. She would forever remain their beloved daughter and cherished little girl.

Family was at the center of Jennifer’s life. From a young age, she was taught that family comes first, a value she carried with her throughout her life. She shared a special bond with her mother, Vicky, whom she spoke with every morning and every night, always ending their conversations with, “I love you, Mom.” She was equally close to her brothers, Ryan and Tyler, and the love they shared was one of her greatest treasures.

Jennifer was also incredibly close with her sisters-in-law (Jaimi and Annalisa), aunts and uncles (Jodie, Jerry, Todd, Robilyn) and cousins (TJ, Hallie, Ashley, Cody), as well as her nieces and nephews (Maxwell, Owen, Zane, Olive, Naomi).

In her earliest years, Jennifer loved being active and competitive. Her father coached her in Bonnet Ball when she was young, and she later played two years of softball at Bountiful High School, graduating in the class of 2001. She inherited her father's love of sports and became a devoted University of Utah fan. For many years she was a season ticket holder for Utah football, loved spending Saturdays tailgating with family and friends, and proudly followed the Utes to two Rose Bowls and the Pac-12 Championship Game. She also loved golf and especially enjoyed competing with her brothers and dad.

Jennifer had an extraordinary ability to make people feel welcome. She was adored by family and friends, and wherever she went she seemed to light up the room with her beautiful smile and sweet spirit. She had the most radiant laugh—you could hear it from across a room, across a parking lot, or across a crowded tailgate. Her laughter was contagious, her kindness genuine, and her zest for life unmistakable. She had a gift for turning ordinary moments into treasured memories and made friends everywhere she went.

In addition to being kind and family first, Jennifer was fierce, loyal, independent, and driven. She took great pride in the life she built, including her beautiful home, her beloved cat Stella, and the many accomplishments she achieved along the way. She lived with passion and purpose, bringing energy, determination, and heart to everything she did. Jennifer was never short on opinions or convictions, and those who knew her admired her authenticity, confidence, and unwavering loyalty.

Jennifer valued education and personal growth. She earned her Associate Degree from Salt Lake Community College, an accomplishment she was proud of and one that reflected her determination and commitment to building a meaningful career and life.

Jennifer also found great meaning in her work with the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA). She considered it a privilege to serve those who had sacrificed so much for their country. Helping Veterans was more than a job to Jennifer—it was an opportunity to make a difference. She felt blessed to work alongside Veterans and dedicated colleagues who became cherished friends. In her service, Jennifer exemplified compassion, integrity, patience, and a genuine commitment to helping others.

Travel and adventure were among Jennifer's greatest joys. Whether a trip centered around great food, wine, music, sports, or simply spending time with friends, she was always ready for the next adventure. Her travels took her throughout the United States and abroad to Mexico, Croatia, Brazil, Rome, and Portugal. She attended the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and continued her love of soccer by attending matches during the 2026 World Cup. Jennifer also enjoyed Major League Baseball and made lasting memories attending games featuring the Seattle Mariners, Texas Rangers, and Houston Astros.

Music was another deep passion throughout Jennifer's life. She loved live concerts and music festivals with friends and enjoyed many happy evenings at Red Butte Garden and Sandy Amphitheater. She proudly worked at Virgin Records and had an extensive collection of vinyl records, CDs, and concert posters.

In every way, Jennifer was always celebrating life—finding reasons to gather, laugh, travel, cheer for her favorite teams, listen to music, share a meal, or simply enjoy the company of those she loved.

Above all, Jennifer's life was enriched by the people she loved and who loved her in return. She treasured her family and friendships deeply, and the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the countless lives she touched.

Her family and friends will remember Jennifer for the joy and light she brought wherever she went. Her smile, laughter, adventurous spirit, fierce loyalty, and genuine care for others will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Jennifer lived a life filled with friendship, family, adventure, service, and love—and she leaves behind a lifetime of beautiful memories.

Jennifer is preceded in death by her father Dev and is survived by her mother, Vicky; her brothers, Ryan (Jaimi) and Tyler (Annalisa); her nephews, Maxwell, Owen, and Zane; and her nieces, Olive and Naomi.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah.

A funeral service honoring Jennifer's life will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
