Jeneal Ball Wimer

Jeneal Ball Wimer, 92, passed away December 10, 2025 surrounded by family and loved ones in St. George Utah.

Jeneal was born August 9, 1933 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Willard J. Ball and Ethel Singley Ball. She was the twelfth of thirteen children. Growing up on the family farm in Ammon, Idaho with eight sisters and four brothers was fun and lively and they were a very close family. Jeneal carried that love of togetherness throughout her life. Family was at the heart of everything she did.

In November of 1953, she married Hoyt S. Wimer and shortly after, they moved to Bountiful Utah. As loving parents, they raised three daughters, Denice, Karla and Selene. She was a devoted mother, wife and homemaker. She loved decorating her home and patios, collecting fun knickknacks and enjoyed helping with yardwork. Dinner was on the table at six. She loved making Turkey dinners with all the trimmings and not just for Thanksgiving. She regularly planned fun outings, trips and get-togethers with friends. Many trips were made to visit their families in Idaho and she would never miss a family reunion. They had great times on a few cruises with friends and family. Jeneal traveled with Hoyt to many places on business trips and was proud of his career success. They purchased Andes Apartments in Brigham City in 1967 and worked together to improve and update the properties. She helped with the management and business side of the apartments. After Hoyt passed away in 1986, she stepped in to oversee the management, a job she took seriously for over 35 years.

When Jeneal met Harold (Hal) Pedersen they formed a strong bond centered around having fun with their families and friends. They traveled far and wide to support their families or just to spend some special time with them. They went to Florida, Italy, Indiana and Hawaii, Canada and many places in between. They especially enjoyed many motorhome adventures with their loved ones always making friends along the way. For many years they traveled in the motorhome to Arizona where they spent the winter season. More recently, they wintered in the St. George condo where the open “Garage” was the gathering place for many fun times almost daily. Everyone knows Jeneal loved a party and Hal was always up to the task of helping her make it happen. Hal and Jeneal were devoted to each other and inseparable for 38 years. As Jeneal’s physical abilities declined, Hal helped her carry on an active life and they continued do the things they loved.

Jeneal loved Hal’s family, his parents, brother and sister and especially his children. They were among her best friends. She was always excited to do fun things with them and they share many wonderful memories.

Jeneal bragged of having the best son-in laws and they all thought they were her favorite. She told them often how much she loved them and the feeling was mutual. She adored her nieces and nephews and was very close to many of them.

Jeneal’s grandchildren and great grandchildren, who call her “Nanny” were very special to her and she always made the effort to connect with them on a personal level.

Jeneal will be remembered for her bubbly, magnetic personality and for the generous time she spent truly enjoying family and friends.

Jeneal is survived by her devoted companion, Hal Pedersen. Her daughters, Denice Smellie (Dale), Karla Carlson (Rick) and Selene McCloud (Brooke). Grandchildren: Chad Carlson (Tammy), Cami Moss (Nick), Dillon McCloud. Five Great grandchildren and four Great, great grands. Sister, Marjene Nish (Dee).

Preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt. Siblings: Violet Blake, Lionel Ball, Ercel Monsen, Marvelle Morgan, Walter Ball, Lorraine Nelson, Elmoyne Holbrook, Morris Ball, Laura Buttars, Elan Ball, Barbara Wadsworth. Granddaughter Elisa Carlson.

A visitation will be held from 12:45 – 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah.

Interment will be at Lakeview Memorial Cemetery following the funeral services.
