Jeffrey Loren Marsden was born on October 9, 1974 in Kaysville, Utah. As a child, Jeff
was adventurous and creative. These qualities remained with him throughout his life.
He enjoyed scouting, earned many merit badges, and as a young man earned the rank
of Eagle Scout. He began learning the violin as a young child and mastered his skill into
his adulthood. In addition to violin, Jeff became an accomplished guitarist and
composer, writing many beautiful songs to include many different instruments. He
loved learning and graduated from Davis High School. He continued his education at
Weber State University earning his Associates Degree on a full-ride scholarship for
music study. Jeff performed many of his exclusively written compositions with a
troupe of musicians and dancers, Yom Al Had, from 2005-2019.
On April 15, 2019, Jeff lost his battle with anxiety and depression. All the world lost a
warm, intelligent, and special soul. Jeff was a beloved husband, son, father, grandfather,
brother, and friend. Maestro of Yom Al Had, musical and mathematical genius, he
wrote the soundtrack to our souls. We will keep his music alive in our hearts forever.
He took extraordinary pride in his work as a custodian for Davis School District, caring
each day for people around him in an otherwise thankless job for twenty-eight
years. He was always willing to help with a smile.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Esther Naomi Marsden, son Jeffrey Jade Marsden, daughter
Raevynne Vile, son Lestat Paul Vile (Misty Harker), grandson Louis Paul Vile, father
Richard Marsden, mother Lana Marsden, Siblings: Robert (Claudia) Marsden, David
(Kimberly) Marsden, Nathan (Janet) Marsden, Tami Marsden, as well as many nieces
and nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and close friends who love and will miss him
dearly.
Jeff was loved more than he ever realized, and his loss is profoundly felt. He was
adored immediately by all who met him. Earth will be a little less musical, magical and
creative without him.
A memorial gathering and funeral will be held on Monday, April 22, 2019 at the LDS
ward building on 331 So. 50 W. Kaysville, UT. The Memorial gathering will begin at
10:00 am with funeral services following at 11:00 am.
