Jeffrey Blake Barger, 41, of Farmington, Utah, passed away on February 8, 2026 after a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on September 6, 1984 in Great Falls, Montana, Jeff spent the majority of his childhood traversing the country from west to east and back again in the back of a 12 passenger van with a canoe strapped to the top. Growing up with three siblings, Jeff sustained his fair share of war injuries, mostly to the head. None of these head wounds would prevent him from attending college at Brigham Young University-Idaho after graduating high school. After one year of college, Jeff followed the example of his Savior, and served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Brazil. There, Jeff developed a love for the Savior and His teachings which laid the foundation for how he would live the rest of his life.
After his mission, Jeff returned to BYU-I, where he procured both a degree and a wife-Cariann. At BYU-I, Jeff was able to fine-tune his love for all things computer. He spent his career developing programs and apps culminating with his career at AllTrails, where he was able to combine his love of the outdoors with the mysteries of technology. His coworkers at Alltrails remember him fondly as reliable, hardworking, and the positive comic relief in day-to-day life.
Jeff spent his entire adult life building the family of his dreams with Cariann. He spent his days doing what he loved: raising his sons to love God, and loving his wife with his entire soul. Together as a family, they developed a passion for the outdoors: hiking, biking, camping, and exploring. Jeff and Cariann dedicated their purpose to giving their sons experiences in the outdoors while pointing all experiences back to Christ and the Creator of our universe.
Jeff leaves behind his wife, Cariann; his sons Devon, Landon, and Rylan; his parents, John and Lauri; and his siblings Heather, JJ (old Fish Hooks, if you will), and Heidi. Not mentioned are the hundreds of people whose lives have been forever changed for the better by knowing and associating with Jeff.
