1933 Jean 2024

Jean Clark Christensen

April 6, 1933 — July 1, 2024

Salt Lake City, UT

Jean Christensen (Clark), 91, passed away peacefully at home on July 1, 2024, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born on July 6, 1933, in Salt Lake City, to Wallace R. and Ella Jean Clark, Jean was the youngest of nine children.

Jean grew up in Morgan, Utah. She attended high school in Morgan. She later studied at Brigham Young University (BYU) for one year. On October 29, 1953, Jean married Clifford Von Christensen in the Salt Lake Temple. Soon after, Von left for Germany during the Korean War and they wrote letters almost daily.

Jean’s life was characterized by her devotion to her faith and family. Jean was an amazing example of service and a firm believer in her Savior Jesus Christ. One of the delights of her life was going to family reunions and visiting family. She was confident in knowing that her family is eternal and wanted others to have that same blessing. Jean and Von’s love for the Savior led them to serve many missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the Vault and the Family History Center in SLC.

Music, baking and quilting/crocheting were some of Jean’s favorite hobbies. She would often play the piano so her children could sing with her. Many friends and relatives received her love through her homemade bread and strawberry jam. She loved baking bread; she would have fresh bread and jam ready when her children would come home from school. She loved to quilt and gave many quilts and afghans to loved ones as gifts.

Jean is survived by five of her six children and their spouses: Vonda (deceased) (Doug Miller); Lynae (Gary Romrell); Mike (Chris) Doug (Shauna); Maren (Mike Decker); VeOnna (Kevin Aldred, deceased); 26 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace Rich Clark and Ella Jean Clark. She also is preceded in death by her 8 siblings.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 6th, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Salt Lake Ward Meetinghouse, 225 West 500 North, Salt Lake City, Utah, where a viewing will take place from 9:45 to 10:45 am prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Morgan City North Cemetery, 601 North 7th East, Morgan, Utah. It is a one-way road in and out of the cemetery, and they have asked us to enter at the west entrance.
