Jann Simpson Balderston

Jann Balderston, born July 10th, 1967, in Ogden, Utah passed away on August 28th, 2024, in West Haven, Utah. Jann was the daughter of A. Lamont Simpson and Joan Skeen Young and married Brett Balderston on November 12th, 2013. She is the mother of Jordan Prestwich and Madison (Bridger) Prince, Grandmother to Jordan’s kids Autumn, Jacklynn, Bentley and Madison’s kids Aspen, Everly, Olivia, and Baylee. 

Jann grew up as one of 7 children in Hooper Utah. She shared tales of happy times with the neighborhood crew. Jann attended Roy High School and developed many wonderful friendships that still exist today. Jann was a talented creator and decorator and help create a stunning home with her husband Brett. Jann was a cancer survivor and showed a strength and perseverance for years that few humans in this world have. In the face of constant pain, she displayed a caring, loving, and fun personality to everyone that was around her. 

Jann had a loving family and friends that she loved deeply in return. Jann is survived by sisters Dana, Diane, and Stacey, and her brother Brad. She is preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Jack Young, and sisters Debbie, and Shelly.

Graveside service to be held on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024 at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful, Utah, at 1 p.m. Services will be streamed live on the Russon Mortuary Live Facebook page and on this obituary page. The live stream will begin about 10-15 minutes prior to the service and will be posted below.

There will be a celebration of life gathering at the Bountiful City Park bowery on 400 North and 200 West, Bountiful, Utah, starting at 2 p.m.
