Janet Parker

Jul 10, 1946 — Oct 26, 2026

Janet Parker, age 80, passed away on October 26, 2026. She was born on July 10, 1946, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Thomas Arland Potter and Elsie Marsella Jackson Potter.

Janet met David Warren Parker during their senior year at Granger High School. They married on November 20, 1967, after David returned from serving overseas in Vietnam. Their life together was filled with family, adventure, and memories that her loved ones will always treasure.

Janet had a caring heart and a gift for seeing the good in everyone. She welcomed people with kindness, regardless of their background, and touched many lives through her generosity. She spent many years working as a special educator and teaching assistant, supporting children with disabilities and special needs with that same compassion.

Throughout her life, Janet loved camping-from her early days in a tent with her sibling to the campers, trailers, and motor homes she adored through her final days. She found joy in nature in every form: camping beneath pine trees, riding the open road with Dave on his motorcycle, tending her flower and vegetable gardens, and feeding every "bird, critter, or creature" she encountered. She loved her many pets over the years and often supported the Humane Society.

Among Janet's favorite memories were her visits to the redwood forests of the West Coast. She loved their fragrance so much that she tried to bring it home through candles and other keepsakes. She also enjoyed telling stories of her younger days with Dave in the deserts of Yuma, Arizona-including the unforgettable time he took off on his motorcycle and she slipped right off the back in the middle of an intersection.

More than anything, Janet loved talking with and spending time with her family, friends, and grandchildren. Her love for her country and the holiday season will remain part of how they remember her. The colorful glow of Christmas tree lights, booming fireworks, and anything red, white, and blue will always bring her to mind.

Janet is survived by her husband, David Warren Parker; her daughter, Nicole Janette Eaton, and her spouse, Nicholas Eaton; her son, David Craig Parker, and his spouse, Heather Dawn Parker; her grandchildren, Bailee Ryan Parker, Karli Jill Parker, Jace Evan Parker, and Emery Grace Parker; and her older sister, Cheryl Hess.

A memorial service will be held in Janet's honor at Russon Mortuary, located at 295 North Main St, Bountiful, UT, on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 10 AM. A welcoming period will begin at 9 AM.

Her kindness, her love of life's simple joys, and her devotion to those she loved will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

We love you, Mom. You will always be our guiding light.
