Janet Adamson

1937 ~ 2015

Janet Adamson passed away peacefully November 23, 2015 surrounded by her loved ones.  Janet was born April 6, 1937 in Logan, Utah to Milton Barnes and Luella Gustafason Barnes. She grew up in Cache Valley and lived on a farm in Cove Utah alone with her father for many years.  She not only went to school but helped milk cows, worked in the fields, cooked meals, did housework, washed and ironed clothes, and helped care for her father from the time she was eleven yours old to the time of her marriage.  She was always a hard worker and very seldom complained about anything.  She loved most people, her family, all babies, and reading.  She was also an outstanding cook.

Janet left her first year of high school and married young in 1952 to Richard H. Adamson.  She spent three and a half years as an AirForce wife and mother stationed in Texas.  She helped put Richard through college while raising a family of five children.  During this time she earned her Nurse Aid Certificate and worked at St. Marks Hospital in the psychiatric department for over ten years.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She was proud of her family and was always there for them.  She always gave her all to help every member of her family in any way she could.  A more thoughtful and wonderful person never lived, just ask her family and friends.  After her retirement she enjoyed tending her grandchildren.  She and Richard traveled many of the states and parts of Canada and Mexico.  She was a member of the LDS Church and during her life served as a primary teacher and a Relief Society teacher.

Janet is preceded in death by her husband, Richard, her parents, siblings, and her son Michael Adamson. She is survived by four of her children, Jill Gayler, Julie (Rick) Loveland, Nancy Angell, and David (Darcy) Adamson, fifteen grandchildren, and twenty two great-grandchildren.

There will be a viewing Friday, November 27, 2015 at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 30, 2015 at the Richmond Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at Lakeview and Hospice.
