James Hogan Park, age 84, returned home on November 17, 2022 surrounded by his children. Jim was the first child born to Milton and Wanda Park on August 2, 1938 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was raised in Woods Cross with his brother and sister. He was a three sport athlete playing baseball, basketball and football. He graduated from Davis High School. He married Joan L Bell (later divorced) in 1958 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with three children, Jill, Joel and Julie.
Jim joined the Navy in 1958 where he served for 6 yrs. He was honorably discharged in 1963. He married Leslee Lemon (later divorced). Jim was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and water skiing. He enjoyed trap shooting and was quite the marksman. Jim worked in construction most of his life and took pride in the fact that he built most of the homes in the Woods Cross area. He loved to build and spent many hours in his shop. He finished his career as an equipment operator at Flying J.
Jim was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. His steadfast work ethic continued with several callings. He served as Bishop, Stake Missionary, Ordinance worker and many others. He enjoyed attending the many blessings, ordinations and baptisms of his grandchildren. He continued to help those in need whenever he was able.
He is survived by his brother Kevin (Lori); children Jill (Scot) Walter, Joel (Milly) Park, and Julie (Rob) Mower; 15 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his Parents, Brother Alan Park, and sister Joan Davis.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 28, 2022, 11:00am at the Woods Cross LDS Chapel 1500 S. 800 West, Woods Cross. A viewing will be held Sunday, November 27th from 6-8 pm at Russon Mortuary located at 295 N Main, Bountiful and again Monday from 9-10:30 am before the Service at the Ward house. Interment will be in the Bountiful City Cemetery .
