Listen to Obituary

James C. McNeill (Jim) was born September 22, 1940, in Ogden, Utah, to D. George McNeill and Ruth Anderson McNeill. Jim was the oldest of three boys.

Jim grew up in Ogden where he attended Weber High and Weber State. He married his sweetheart, Louise Yeoman on July 8th, 1961, and they started their adventures, the first of many being him leaving Louise at a gas station on their honeymoon when they had stopped for a “pit stop”. Fortunately, he remembered her not too far down the road, and came back to rescue her. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.

Jim and Louise had four children they raised in Bountiful, Utah. They lived in the same home they raised their family in for 62 years.

Jim held many callings in church, but his favorites always involved being with the scouts.

He loved being a jokester and a tease. He took great delight in “terrifying” the neighbors on Halloween.

There wasn’t much he couldn’t do. Fix a car, television, computer, whatever you needed help with, he could do it, or figure it out.

Jim worked for the FAA for many years, and then was a proctor for PSI, where his three daughters worked with him. He was named Proctor of the Year one year.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and gold panning. He had written a few articles that were published in a gold panning magazine that he was quite proud of.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Blaine and Eldon, his in-laws Neal and Lola Yeoman, brothers-in-law Wayne Yeoman, Joe Post and Tony Hasratian,, and sister-in-law Jayne Therianos.

Jim is survived by his wife, Louise, daughters Elise (Les) Stahle, Julie ((Shane) Smith, Sjana (Justin) Williams and son Robert (Chantal) McNeill, 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Jim will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
