Jacquelyn (Jackie) Welch Davis, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025.
Jackie was born on November 2, 1943, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the second of four daughters of Charles Welch Jr. and Jane Seare Welch. She attended East High School, graduating with the Class of 1962, and later earned a bachelor’s degree in home economics from the University of Utah in 1966.
On June 21, 1965, Jackie was sealed to her eternal companion, Grant Davis, in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they shared 60 wonderful years of marriage, raising three children and building a legacy of love, service, and faith. Nearly all of those years were spent in Bountiful, Utah, where they made their home and developed lifelong friendships.
A devoted and nurturing mother, Jackie found her greatest joy in her family. She dedicated her life to their well-being, happiness, and spiritual growth. She loved reading and studying the Gospel of Jesus Christ, especially the Book of Mormon. Jackie sought to love God and those around her. Ever quick to serve, she often shared meals and treats with neighbors—her beloved poppy-seed bread was a favorite.
A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jackie served diligently at the Bountiful Temple and in various Primary, Relief Society, Young Women, and Boy Scout callings. With her husband, she served as a missionary in the England Manchester Mission and later as a volunteer with the General Young Men’s Presidency. Jackie also served her community as a co-director of the Bountiful Handcart Days Celebration.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Grant; their children, Michael (Shirley), Amy (Karl) Wilson, and Cristie (Steven) Hansen; thirteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three sisters. She will be remembered always for her smile, her strength, and her unwavering devotion to family and faith.
The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Fairfield Village in Layton and Inspiration Hospice for their tender care this past year.
