She came into this world on February 24, 1936, as Ila Claire Schofield to William Udall Sr. and Clara Moore Schofield of Hiko, Nevada. This is where she learned, from loving parents, the principles of hard work and a strong faith in the Savior Jesus Christ.
She met Clarence R Bishop in October of their first year at BYU and were married on March 15, 1957, in the St. George LDS temple.

She was a wonderful mother who supported her husband Clare as he traveled the world 3 weeks out of four for the LDS church. She supported and served with Clare as Mission President, Stake President, Director of Wyoming Martins' Cove Handcart Center and 6 other missions for the LDS Church.

She was a talented homemaker who had lots of energy and focused on cooking wonderful meals that made her grandchildren look forward to Sunday Dinner. She always had a plentiful garden from which bottled raspberry jam which she shared at Christmas time. She loved going to the LDS temple and attended regularly.

She was President of Daughters of Utah Pioneers, President of The Salt Lake Council of Women, President of The Promised Valley Playhouse Guild and also loved the time she spent working at The Lion House Pantry as a hostess and the Beehive house as a tour guide.
