Howard Dean Lassalle

Howard Dean Lassalle went to be with his Lord on August 20, 2026. He never let his deteriorating health, the past few years, hold him back. Dean stayed strong and courageous by his joyful spirit and full life.

Dean was born June 16, 1934, in West Newton, Pennsylvania where he grew up. Dean's mother passed away when he was 9 years old, He and his sister were raised by his Grandparents Ola and Peola Markle.

Dean graduated from West Newton High School. He was a good student with good grades he played sports and became the high school's horseshoe champion.

He enlisted in the military at 19, serving 7 years as a U.S Marine. He was deployed to Korea, towards the end of the Korean war. Then re-enlisted into the Airforce for 13 years, where he began his computer programming career. He retired from the Airforce as a rank Sargant E6, with the nickname Sarge.

After retiring from the military, he moved to Salt Lake City to work for Unisys as a Software Engineer for 16 years. Here he made many memories, one being, creating a softball team from the stragglers calling them the "Leftovers", taking them to many successful wins. He enjoyed many years of tailgating at University of Utah football games, with co-workers, friends, family and the wife, who was the Designated Driver to them all.

Becky and Dean were inseparable for 48 years; they loved each other dearly. Starting from where they met at Unisys to their humble abode in Beaver Dam, AZ. Throughout their life they enjoyed their time playing softball, bowling, dancing, and attending church worshiping the Lord. They loved to travel to many places in their motor home where they had made many memories to tell.

When Dean married Becky, he gained a very large family. They often spend time with often at family events and camping. Many of them claimed Dean as their horseshoe partner first for their family tournaments, knowing there was a loot to win. Becky's family loved and respected Dean as one of their own.

Dean enjoyed sharing the love of sports with his kids and grandkids. Dean was so proud of his Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren in so many ways.

Dean is survived by his wife Becky; Son's Howard Dean Jr. (Tatianna); Brock (Maren), Daughter Robin; 7 Grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his daughters Mary, Melissa and Stephanie; son Ryan; Grandson Steven; siblings Frenchie, Butch, Adele and Peggy and Mother Anna.

A viewing will take place on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., at Russon Mortuary, 295 N Main ST., Bountiful, UT. There will be a celebration of life, to be announced, at a later time. Please come and share your memories of Dean, we all know he left many.
