Holly Mills Gold

Holly Mills Gold, beloved wife, mother, Grandma Holly, sister, and friend to many, passed away on September 22, 2026, at the far-too-young age of 69 after living with Alzheimer’s disease. We find great comfort in knowing that she was welcomed home into the loving, waiting arms of our Heavenly Parents and reunited with family members who went before her.

Holly was born December 14, 1956, to Ivo and Gerrie Mills. She grew up in Centerville, Utah, alongside her older sister, Sherrie; brothers Bryant and Russell; and younger brother, Doug. Holly attended Viewmont High School, where she was a Viewmont Vykelle and a student body officer. Early evidence that Holly was never really meant to sit quietly on the sidelines. She loved people, loved being involved, and brought enthusiasm and fun wherever she went.

On November 4, 1976, Holly married the love of her life, Mark Gold, in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity. They made their home in Farmington, Utah, where they would spend nearly 50 years building a life, raising a family, making friendships, serving others, and creating countless memories together.

Holly and Mark were blessed with four children: Kim, Jed, Kyle, and Jessie. Holly considered it one of the great privileges of her life to be a stay-at-home mom and devote those years to raising her children. Family was at the center of Holly’s life, and there was nowhere she would rather be than right in the middle of whatever her family was doing.

And Holly really did like to be in the middle of it all. She was an avid exerciser and runner, completing numerous races and half marathons over the years, and she genuinely loved it. She loved to read and watch movies, but she was also always ready to get up and play. Whether it was volleyball, pickleball, or Topgolf, if people were gathering and something fun was happening, Holly wanted in. She loved laughing, talking, playing games, spending time with friends and family, and simply being part of things. She had an energy and enthusiasm for life that made it hard not to have a little more fun when she was around.

Holly also had a deep and abiding faith in Jesus Christ. She had a firm testimony of the Savior and His Atonement and spent countless hours throughout her life studying the gospel. She attended institute for many years and had a genuine hunger to learn more about the things of God. She loved the temple and served faithfully for many years as a Bountiful temple ordinance worker.

Holly served in many capacities in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but she especially loved working with the youth. She and Mark also had the opportunity to serve together at the Davis County Jail, an experience that allowed her to combine two things she loved deeply: people and the gospel of Jesus Christ. She looked forward to the day when she and Mark could serve a senior mission together. Alzheimer’s changed that plan, at least in this life. We like to think her missionary work simply looks a little different now.

One of Holly’s greatest gifts was her ability to connect with people. She truly never met a stranger, just someone she hadn’t had a chance to talk to yet. She could strike up a conversation almost anywhere and had a way of making people feel welcomed and included. Talking was definitely one of Holly’s talents, and even as Alzheimer’s changed so many things, her desire to join the conversation remained. She still wanted to be where the people were, listening, talking, laughing, and being part of whatever was going on around her. That was simply Holly.

Of all the titles Holly held throughout her life, “Grandma Holly” was one of her favorites. She was blessed with 13 grandchildren who lovingly called her by that name. She delighted in their lives and was proud of each of them, their education, church missions, talents, adventures, accomplishments, and, most of all, the people they were becoming. Nothing made Holly happier than having her family together, preferably with plenty of conversation and laughter filling the room.

Holly is survived by her loving husband, Mark; her mother-in-law, Kathy Gee-Gold; her four children, Kim (Tyler) Keate, Jed (Angela) Gold, Kyle (Andrea) Gold, and Jessie (Scott) Price; and her 13 grandchildren: Caden (Maya) Keate, Britton Keate, Ellie Gold, Ashlyn Keate, Sarah Gold, Gavin Keate, Samuel Gold, Vivian Gold, Harper Gold, Luke Price, Hudson Gold, Mackenzie Price, and Jake Price.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivo and Gerrie Mills; her brother, Bryant; and her father- and mother-in-law, Donald and Clara Gold.

Our family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, CNAs, and staff at Legacy House Memory Care for the tenderness and love they showed Mom during the final months of her earthly life and the patience they showed with our dad. We are also deeply grateful for the many friends, family members, and members of the Farmington 9th Ward who took the time to visit her, sit with her, talk with her, and remind her through their presence that she was loved.

While we will miss her voice in our conversations, her place in our family is eternal.

We love you, Mom, until we meet again.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 26, at 1:00 p.m. at the Farmington South Stake Center, 695 S. 200 E., Farmington, Utah.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, September 25, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Farmington Mortuary, 1941 N. Main Street, Farmington, Utah, and again on Saturday from 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. at the Farmington South Stake Center prior to the funeral service.

Interment will follow at the Farmington City Cemetery, 500 S. 200 E., Farmington, Utah.
