Heidi Jeanette Pierce Green, 50, of Kaysville Utah, passed away on August 8th, 2026 after a dignified fight against breast cancer. Born August 24th, 1975 in Ogden Utah. She was a beloved wife, mother, friend, and first time expecting grandmother. She was a brilliant ray of positivity who constantly made efforts to improve. For years prior to her death, she bemusedly requested any memorial read, “She was trying.” Although it was the double-meaning that had her so entertained, her loved ones will always remember the constant efforts she made to be a better person. Whether it was parenting books, self-help podcasts, or charity work, she always sought to be better. Her compassion and boundless love made her a light in the life of everyone she met.
Heidi is survived by her parents, Larry Pierce and Marla Pierce; her husband and soulmate Matthew Green; her four cherished children, Bradley, Lauren, William, and Owen; her beloved daughter-in-law Emma Lucy; and her six siblings, David, Kim, Johnathan, Daniel, Amy, and Jackie. She is also survived by her two best friends, Biffy Turner and Marie Hyde, as well as the granddaughter she was so excited to soon meet.
She is remembered for her love of travel, her quirky sense of humor, and her incredible heart. She loved and cherished each and every one of her third grade students, and even after retiring thought of them often. As a former school teacher, she has asked that her memory be honored by parents and students writing thank-you letters to teachers who have positively impacted their lives. Her absence will be felt painfully, but her memory will be a cherished gift to all who knew her.
A non-religious celebration of her life will be open to all on August 24th at 7:00 PM. The family would love to see everyone who has been touched by Heidi’s beautiful soul. It will be held at our neighborhood church building at 1505 Whispering Meadow Lane, Kaysville, UT 84037. Heidi requested casual attire and smiles at this last party so everyone will feel comfortable.
