Hayden passed away suddenly on July 10, 2023, in Plumas Lake, California.
Hayden was born in Layton, Utah and spent his first 10 years in Centerville where he attended Connie’s pre-school and J.P. Stewart Elementary School.
From an early age Hayden had a love and compassion for animals both large and small, but always had a special affinity for dogs. Hayden’s first dog, Milo, passed away from cancer when Hayden was only 6 years old. He has since had 2 other pets: Riego, and April. Hayden had a lifelong goal of working with animals, and aspirations of becoming a veterinarian.
After moving to California in 2017 Hayden began volunteering at the Front Street Animal Shelter in Sacramento. For the past 4 years he fostered many dogs in his home, assisted with vaccination clinics, worked with the timid dogs, and enjoyed helping the homeless pets through the pet food pantry program at the animal shelter.
Hayden was always thinking of others, quick-witted, and a jokester; he always had a joke to tell. He wanted to make others feel welcome and that they belonged and was always eager to please. He was not one to complain about much of anything and was genuinely concerned for the welfare of others.
Hayden loved the zoo, swimming in the ocean, pool, and local river. He had a great love of books, especially books about dogs. He was gifted to be able to create with his hands, Legos, artwork, and able to solve puzzles without direction. He played the flute in the school band, and was a collector of many things including coins, erasers, lapel pins, and bamboo. He was also quite the smoothie creator and was developing his skills in the kitchen.
Hayden is survived by his sister Asia, mother Heidi, father Scott, Grandmothers Connie and Sharon, and Grandfather Neil, and his dog April.
His funeral will be on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 Main Street, Bountiful, Utah with a viewing from 8:30 – 9:45 a.m. prior to the services.
