Harvey Thomas III

Harv Thomas III also known as “Sonny” passed away on May 7th, 2026, in Bountiful, Utah.

Born on November 9th, 1957, to Harvey Thomas, Jr. and Cora Elina Pforr Thomas in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from Bountiful High School in 1976. After high school he moved to Boise, Idaho, for a year working for Trailways. He moved back to Bountiful, Utah, and over the years he worked for Universal Floral, Feller’s Meats, and then Syro Steel for many years. Harv worked deliveries for Interstate Battery, retiring from Interstate in 2019.

For many years Harv did amateur/pro bowling through American Bowling Congress, USBC, and won many championships and joined the National Bowling Hall of Fame. His other hobbies included shooting pool, darts, and fishing and hunting. He collected Cameros and he had designed in art class his paint job for his 1979 Rally Sport. The design was later used by Chevy.

He spent his retirement tending to his garden, enjoying growing fruits and vegetables and watching hummingbirds and squirrels.

Harv is preceded in death by his parents Harvey, Jr. and Cora, and brother-in-law Clyde Jordison. He is survived by his sister Corlis L. Thomas Jordison, niece April Thomas, great nephews and nieces Nathan Muir (Kylie), Caden Thomas, and DeLainey Facer.

There will be a graveside service at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at his parents’ gravesite in the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful, Utah.
