Harold Thomas Call

On July 10, 1938, Reuben Call and Luella Ford Call welcomed their son Harold into this world.

Harold spent his younger years on the family farm in Bountiful, Utah, alongside his five siblings. In 1956, he proudly joined the U.S. Navy, serving the next four years aboard aircraft carriers. He achieved the rank ABH2 (Aviation Boatswain’s Mate Aircraft Handler, Petty Officer Second Class) aboard the historic U.S.S. Midway and finished his service aboard the U.S.S. Hancock.

Following his military service, Harold met the love of his life, Nancy Gilbert. Together, they built a life rooted in love and continued the legacy of the Call Family in Bountiful, Utah, with their four children: Michael (Susan) Call, Shiree (Scott) Anderson, Tamara (David) Eaton (deceased), and Teresa (Trenton) Cockayne. Harold was the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren: Michael Sorenson, Stacey Call, Karly Anderson (Ian Dobrowalski), Collin (Makaylee) Sorenson, Shauna Call (Travis Mapes), Jeremy Anderson, and David Call, and great-grandfather to Ellie Mae and Cooper Sorenson.

Harold and Nancy shared 62 wonderful years of marriage prior to her passing on January 28, 2025.

Throughout his life, Harold enjoyed a successful career in various aspects of freight transportation. Every spare moment was spent with Nancy, his children, and friends golfing, fishing, camping, tending to his garden, and exploring the world.

He was a gentle soul who instilled in his children his love of family, travel, work ethic, and passion for the outdoors. He will be deeply missed by all who had the opportunity to know the “H” who has touched so many hearts.

A celebration of Harold’s life will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025. He will be laid to rest in his hometown of Bountiful, Utah, with his beloved Nancy and near their daughter Tamara.

Services will be at Russon Mortuary, 295 N. Main Street, Bountiful, Utah.

Visitation: 8:45 - 9:45 a.m.

Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m.

Burial will follow at Bountiful City Cemetery directly after the services (plot is on the west side.)
