Hal Boulton Riley

May 14, 1948 — February 8, 2022

Hal Boulton Riley, 73, passed away surrounded by his family on February 8, 2022 in Kaysville, Utah.  He was born on May 14, 1948 in Bountiful, Utah to Glen Kay Riley and Adarene Boulton Riley.  Hal was raised in Bountiful, Utah where he graduated from Bountiful High School in 1966.  He served the Northern States mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Hal married his sweetheart and eternal companion MaryLyn Tobler on December 6, 1968 in the Salt Lake City Temple.  They were blessed with six wonderful children:  Shelli (Mike) Youngberg, Scott (Becky) Riley, Kristin (Cody) Stephens, April (Kenny) Milliner, Mike (Jen) Riley and Troy (Shranda) Riley; Nineteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

From 1974 – 2015 Hal was president of Kay Riley and Sons Flooring which he, his father and brothers started in 1947.  In 1993 he pursued his lifelong passion of cattle ranching in Woodruff, Randolph and from Peoa to Promontory Point in Utah, which became his second home.  He created fond memories and lifelong friendships.  Hal loved church softball, baseball, and basketball, all along sacrificing his body to catch every ball!

Hal enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and going on horse pack trips.  He never passed up an opportunity to be in the outdoors camping with his family.  He enjoyed snowmobiling and spending time at the family cabin, leaving his mark of handy work for all to enjoy.

Hal served in the Bountiful Temple for ten years with his two brothers Kirt and Demar.  There he lovingly served the Lord and made eternal friendships with those he worked with.

Hal passed away after a six-year battle with cancer, which he courageously fought for his family.  We will forever be grateful for the extra time we were blessed to be with our sweetheart, dad and friend.
