Gloria Carol Lund Roach, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend passed away at the age of 95 on April 22, 2026 in Bountiful UT. Gloria was born January 10,1931 to Hugh and Thelma Lund in Salt Lake City UT. Being the second oldest of 5 she was known as the peacemaker, which she carried throughout her life, rarely getting upset. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held many callings and served on many committees.
She graduated from East High School in 1948. She attended the University of Utah where she met Jack Roach. They married on January 5, 1951. Shortly thereafter he was drafted into the army and was sent to Austria. As a young 20-year-old, Gloria packed up a trunk and hopped on a ship to join Jack in Austria where they lived for almost 2 years.
After returning, she had many jobs as a bookkeeper. Shortly after their 11th anniversary they started their family with Cindy, then David, then Sandee. In 1968 they moved to Bountiful, which they absolutely loved. On January 5, 1981, their 30th anniversary, they were sealed as a family in the Salt Lake Temple.
Gloria had many hobbies which included: spending time with family, camping, hunting, sewing, archery, volunteering at Lakeview Hospital and Muir Elementary, and working in the yard! She enjoyed planting flowers and shrubs to make their yard beautiful. Being in the yard was her way to relax, and her love for the yard showed with always having such a beautiful yard. She loved playing all kinds of games: board games, yard games, table games, and card games, especially PINOCHLE! Together with Jack they taught many how to play, but Gloria was always the QUEEN, everyone wanted to be her partner.
She is survived by children: Cindy (Ron) Reed, David (Tracey) Roach, Sandee (Les) Hinman; grandchildren: Dawn and Connor Reed, Dalton, Delaney, Bronson and Aiden Roach, Kailie and Thomas Hinman; and sister Faye (Andy) Anderson. She was preceded in death by husband Jack; parents Hugh and Thelma Lund; grandson Ethan Roach; siblings: Beverly Lee, Donna Jean Johnson, Jim Lund; siblings-in-law: Pace Lee, Norma Lund, and Adrian Anderson.
We would like to thank the staff at both Creekside Senior Living and Legacy House of Bountiful for their help and care for our sweet mother.
