Glenn C. Oman

November 26, 1934 — September 21, 2021

Glenn C. Oman passed away on September 21, 2021 in Talmage UT at the home of his daughter Tiffany. Glenn was born November 26, 1934 in Price, UT to Clyde D. and Lola Richens Oman. He spent some of his youth in Price growing up on the farm and learning to love the outdoors. His family moved to Brigham City UT. Glenn excelled in sports, especially football and track and field while at Box Elder High School. He learned and increased the work ethic in his life in various types of labor, but especially at his father’s gas station in Brigham. November 2, 1953 he married Elaine Smith in the Logan Temple. They started their life and family together. He worked at Slim Olson’s for a time as well as other businesses. He served in the Utah Army National Guard achieving the rank of Sergeant. Glenn became an electrician and as the years passed earned the status in the trade of Master Electrician. He worked many years for the Howard P. Foley, Co. a large electrical contracting firm where he was a General Foreman. His employment took him and the family to Cheyenne, WY, Grand Forks ND and Great Falls MT while he worked on the ICBM missile command and control centers. He was respected by all who worked with him. Later he was sent to Baton Rouge LA to oversee a massive project. Returning to Utah they settled in Centerville UT where they have resided since 1967.

Dad and Mom were supportive of their children in all their different activities. For the sons it was sports and for their daughter it was the horse show business. They started a horse business called El-Glen-Ti Arabians. There were many years of horse shows and boarding horses on their property. He was a member of the Back Country Horsemen of America for about 18 years and worked on keeping trails clear from trees and brush for all using the trails. Toward the end of his career he had his own electrical contractor business and did very well for quite a while. Dad shared his Electrical Expertise with his son Mike and grandson Christopher who worked with him for some years and they cherished their time together and relied on his experience. Dad enjoyed hunting and fishing. There are memories of years gone by fishing with Dad on the Missouri River in Montana and lakes and reservoirs in Utah. From his youth in Price he always seemed to have a cowboy spirit about him.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 68 years Elaine and their four children Greg (Joyce), Mike (Merri Jo), Kirk, Tiffany (Jay) Burton, their 24 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, his 4 brothers, Neil, Bruce, Kent and Jon and sister Leah, and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and close friends will be held on September 23, 2021 from 6:30 to 7:30 PM at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary. 295 North Main Street, Bountiful UT. A grave side service will be held at the Brigham City Cemetery on September 24, 2021 at 12:00pm.
