Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Glen J Parker, passed away peacefully of natural causes at home on March 14, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. He was born April 5, 1934, in Ogden, Utah to Roland Fay "Ted" Parker and Alverda Williams Parker. Glen was the first of three children. He was raised in Roy, Utah.
Glen graduated from Weber High School, earned an associate degree from Weber State College, and a bachelor's in mathematics from Utah State University. After graduating, he served in the U.S. Army in White Sands, New Mexico.
Glen met the love of his life, Elaine Mayhew, at a wedding reception where they danced together for the first time. They married in the Salt Lake Temple in June 1958. They loved camping and created many wonderful memories with children and relatives visiting lakes and mountains throughout Utah and surrounding states. They had a shared passion for square dancing which they enjoyed for many years and through which they grew strong friendships. After retirement they traveled as snowbirds with these friends during winter months.
Glen devoted his career to the computer industry, beginning when programs were fed by punch cards, and retired decades later in 2000. He was known for his steady work ethic, quiet persistence, and attention to detail.
A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Glen served in various callings including missions as a stake Missionary and at the Family History Library. Glen loved genealogy, spent hours researching daily, and enjoyed meeting extended family members in this pursuit.
Glen loved singing in the church choir and at home where he was often heard humming or singing - especially in the shower, where he earned the title for best Parker family vocal performance. He had a lifelong passion for fast pitch softball and helped his team win two All Church Softball Tournaments.
Glen is survived by his wife of 67 years, Elaine Mayhew Parker; their children Steven Glen (Brenda) Parker, Roger Lee (Marla) Parker, Cheryl Ann Parker, and Jay David (Terri) Parker, 11 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Kay LaRue Parker and Ray Roland Parker, and granddaughter, Jennifer Christine Parker.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Elevation Hospice for their exceptional care, compassion, and support provided to Glen and Elaine during his final years.
