Gerald Roy Frampton

Oct 26, 1942 — Oct 4, 2026

Bountiful, UT

Our amazing Dad Gerald R. "Buck" Frampton, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home in Bountiful, Utah, on October 4, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Dad was born on October 26, 1942, in Lovell, Wyoming, to Ellyn M. Frampton and Gerald James Frampton. The family moved to Bountiful, Utah, when Dad was a baby. He attended Bountiful High School and lived in Bountiful his whole life. No matter where we went, Dad ran into someone who knew him.

Dad lived a life full of love, dedication, and service to others. Dad was kind to everyone and always ready to lend a helping hand. If anyone needed something welded, excavated, or modified to go faster, he was the man. If you needed something he couldn't do himself. Dad always knew a guy, or knew a guy who knew a guy, that could hook you up with almost anything. Home repairs, car repairs, buying a car, buying tires, buying motorcycles, sleds, pretty much anything. The possibilities were endless with Dad. He always made sure his family and friends were well taken care of.

Dad believed in hard work. When Dad was young, he worked at Grandma Ellyn's restaurant. He would come home from school and immediately start helping her cook, wash dishes, and do anything else, so she could take a little break from her busy day. In 1959, Dad began working for his future father-in-law, “Foss Lewis,” in the sand and gravel business. Later to become Foss Lewis and Sons Construction. Foss was Dad's hero. Dad often told stories of working with Grandpa and the many things he learned from him. Foss passed away in 1971. Dad continued working in the family business alongside his Brothers-In-Law, his son Brad, nephews, and many others who came to work for the business and with whom Dad became friends. One of his favorite things to do was excavating golf courses. He was a master at shaping greens with his D6 Caterpillar.

One of the many things we all loved about Dad was how he cherished and loved our Mom, Linda. They married on March 10, 1961, and later were solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on January 14, 1965. Dad always affectionately referred to Mom as "girlfriend". They shared a love and respect like no other.

When Dad wasn't working, he devoted every spare minute to spending time with us, Mom, and eventually the grandkids when they came along. We enjoyed weekends on the lakes fishing, waterskiing, or in the mountains snowmobiling. We traveled all over the place to various Moto-X tracks. Dad worked his guts out keeping our bikes running top-notch so we could have the time of our lives racing. If anyone in the family wanted to try something, Dad and Mom were always game to make it happen.

It is impossible to express in a few short paragraphs all the things that made Dad the wonderful person he was. We will always love and honor him for the rest of our lives. We will feel his love and devotion to our family forever.
