George Demille Treasure passed away peacefully at The Villas Assisted Living in Kaysville, Utah on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at the age of 91. He was born on November 1st, 1931 in Malad, Idaho and went by the name, Dee. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Margaret Orlean Treasure and his sons, Perry and Marty Treasure.

Dee grew up in Downey, Idaho on his parents ranch where he helped with all the chores. He served our country in the Korean War on the USS General Randall Navy ship for 4 years. When Dee came home from the Navy he married Elizabeth Bloxham on October 28, 1955. They were married for 67 years. They were sealed as a family in the Logan temple on May 20, 1969.

Dee started his family in Malad Idaho, then later moved to Ogden Utah to start a career as a meat cutter for American Foods. Later, he was a meat manager for Albertsons and later became a meat supervisor. He was well respected in the industry and friends with Joe Albertson and other corporate leaders. After 34 years of service at Albertsons, he retired at the age of 62. He lived in Roy for 30 years and wintered in Lake Havasu. He lived in Mesquite, NV for 10 years. The last 4 years he lived in Layton, UT and enjoyed being closer to family. In his later years while living in Roy and Mesquite, he enjoyed doing ordinance work in the temple with his wife, Beth.

Dee loved to travel in his motorhome and went on several cruises with his family. He loved to workout and go on walks with his wife and children. He sang and played the guitar with old friends.

He was the oldest of 4 children. He has 2 sisters, Dixie and Jeanine, and 1 brother, Lanny.

Dee is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Treasure and his sons Kurt (Heidi) Treasure, Kim (Cindi) Treasure, and Zan (Kelly) Treasure. He leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

We would like to thank Darren at the Villas and their staff for the great care they gave Dad. We’re especially thankful for Envision Hospice, Dee’s nurse Shasta, Whitney, Haley, James, and other staff. He truly loved them while they were caring for him.
