George Burns Searle

George Burns Searle, 77, passed away on October 15th, 2025. George was born on July 11th, 1948, to Florence Burns and Harold Dean Searle in Salt Lake City. He was the younger of two children.

George was a lifelong resident of Bountiful. He graduated from Bountiful High School in 1966. Then, he studied machining at Utah Technical College (now Salt Lake Community College). George served as a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1970. While George was stationed in South Korea, he met his future wife, Yon Hui.

After leaving the Army, George returned to Bountiful. He married his wife, Yon Hui, on April 2nd, 1971. George worked as a civilian machinist at Hill Air Force Base for 27 years. He also served as a volunteer firefighter for the Bountiful City Fire Department for 26 years.

George loved to ride his Harley and even had a custom-made Harley Davidson firefighter special edition motorcycle. He loved getting together with other Harley enthusiasts and often went on rides and trips with his local HOG group.

George is survived by his loving wife, Yon Hui; Sister Dorothy Gisseman; Son Michael Searle; Granddaughter Danielle (Andres) Rodriguez; Grandson Dillan Searle; and Great-Grandson Dominic Rodriguez.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 21st, 2025, at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
