Gary Leo Sagers was born in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1941. He died June 27, 2026 after a brief illness. His parents are Robert Leo Sagers and Lucile Embley. He graduated from West High School and then served three years in the United States Army.

He was sealed to Carma Jensen in the Salt Lake Temple on November 14, 1963. They lived in Salt Lake City, Utah, where they raised their four children. For most of their married lives, they lived in the Ivins Ward in the Wells Stake, where they built lasting friendships with many of their neighbors.

Throughout his life he was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He lived his life in a way that showed his faith. He was a wonderful example of service and obedience.

His professional life included many years at the Salt Lake City Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank. After he retired from there, he also worked 12 years at Marriott International. 

Gary is survived by his wife, Carma, their four children: Heidi Ahlers (Jeff), Steve Sagers (Terumi), Dennis Sagers (Christine), Greg Sagers (Alicia), two brothers: Lynn Sagers (Pat) and Louis Miller (Cyndi), 17 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2026 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the historic 8th Ward Building at 270 East 500 South in Salt Lake City.

Funeral Services will be held at the same location on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing preceding the service from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
