Fred passed away peacefully at home early Wednesday morning, July 12, 2023. He was born to Karl Efraim Andersen and Randi Evelyn Syversen Andersen in Oslo, Norway on December 20, 1935. He and his family immigrated to the United States in January of 1949, locating in Corinne, Utah.

He married Marilyn Clay on March 8, 1957, in West Bountiful, Utah. They were sealed March 13, 1958, in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married for 66 years.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He directed the choir for many years as well as helped with music in other meetings, he also served as a Sunday School Teacher and Home Teacher. Fred had a beautiful baritone voice. During his life he sang in the Tabernacle Choir, The Jay Welch Chorale, and the Utah Symphony Chorus. He was also invited to sing at many other events in the community.

He was a brick mason by trade and worked building houses as well as commercial buildings. He worked on several of the school buildings in Davis County. He was very good at solving many structural problems during his working years.

He loved to travel and was able to return to Norway four times to visit family. We took many car trips together as a family because Fred loved to drive. When they were empty nesters, Fred and Marilyn took road trips all over the United States and Canada especially visiting many church history sites as well as traveled to Hawaii and Alaska.

He loved his family, loved having them come to visit. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ray and David. He is survived by his wife and daughters, Barbara Walpole (William), Kathryn Hart (Bill), and Jane Smith (Michael), and 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren who he loved dearly.
