Frank Eugene Simon

Nov. 22, 1930, June 23, 2025

Frank (Joe) Simon of Farmington, Utah was born to Raymond George Simon and Myrtle Lillian Parkes in Salt Lake City during the great depression. Those early years would be a great influence on him the rest of his life.

Frank married Nadine Beaudrow on June 5, 1963 in the Salt Lake Temple and they have shared 62 years together. Prior he was married to Judy Jimenez, he gained a step daughter Linda and they had a daughter Karen.

Frank was a proud graduate of West High School. He also served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He began working at age 12 as a janitor at his elementary school. After his years in the service he followed his Uncle Jack into a career as a meat cutter. He first worked for Success Market in Salt Lake City and then would go on to a 30-plus year career as a meat manager and merchandiser for Safeway before retiring at age 62.

Service in the Bountiful Temple commenced shortly after and he would go on to serve for over 20 years. He also served his church (mostly in the Val Verda 2nd Ward in Bountiful) in many capacities such as: Cub Master, Seventy, high councilor and in a bishopric.

A love for fastpitch softball, baseball and golf were part of Frank’s life. He played softball for the Salt Lake 15th Ward and for the Rio Grande Railroad. He and Nadine traveled to many ball parks to watch major league baseball. He is also the owner of three hole-in-ones and taught his children the importance of golf in one’s life.

Some of his life skills were near perfect penmanship, the ability to fix most anything and his uncanny ability to identify the make and model of virtually every automobile ever made. The one thing he was not was fast, at anything!

Frank and Nadine were able to see many parts of the world following retirement. Trips to Canada, Europe, Australia and other areas of the world were life changing for them.

Frank is survived by his wife Nadine; Children Karen (David), Jeff (Jan), Wendy (Jason), David (Mindy) and Alison (Travis). 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his sister Lavon Linnell and brother-in-law Ross Linnell.

Frank’s life was one of Joy, service and Christ-like love. He loved his family, loved his career, loved his church, loved big band music, loved chocolate, and loved golf.
