Fay Adkins Ericksen, age 86, passed away in Bountiful October 27th 2007. Born November 25th, 1920 in Smith?s Ferry, Pennsylvania to Roy Lee and Glennie Marie Sperry Adkins, she grew up along the shores of the Ohio River in East Liverpool; an area that she loved her whole life. In her late teens, she met a handsome LDS Missionary serving in her area. They developed a friendship, and this missionary returned to East Liverpool following his honorable mission. She married Melvin J. Ericksen October 15th, 1944 in Abilene Texas and shortly following, solemnized vows in the Logan Temple on October 25th, 1944 just before Mel shipped off to serve in the European War effort. After his military service, Fay helped support Mel toward his Dental degree in Ohio, and later in his successful dental practice in Bountiful where they made their home, and raised four children. Church service was always important to Fay, and she was a faithful member all of her life. Fay served in many capacities in the church and served for many years in the special needs primary. She knitted several hundred caps and blankets for children in need. She served as a temple worker in the Bountiful temple alongside her husband for several years. She was a dedicated homemaker, wife and mother. Fay loved to sew and knit and was an accomplished quilter. She particularly enjoyed cooking and serving fresh fruit and vegetables from her garden to her family and friends. The Ericksen table was always plentiful with healthy food. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin and her daughter-in-law Cindy Ericksen. Survived by her four children: Barbara Hatch Steve, Cindy Sampinos, Paul Ericksen Rochelle, Lee Ericksen Portia; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; Kaid, Isabella, Brenna and Moses. Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon, Saturday, November 3rd, 2007 at the LDS Chapel at 1250 South Main, Bountiful, UT. Friends may call Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main and Saturday morning 10:45 – 11:45 am at the church prior to services. Interment-Lakeview Memorial Estates in Bountiful.
