Farrell Rosequist Winter

February 17, 1930 — April 18, 2021

As the sun rose early Sunday morning April 18th, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Farrell Rosequist Winter, 91, was welcomed into the arms of his parents, brother, and son in law.  Though it is hard for us to let him go, his reunion with them must have been glorious.

Farrell was born in Levan, UT to Alma and Ruby Winter.  He had fond memories growing up working on the family farm in Levan with his father and with other close family on their farms.

Farrell valiantly served our country in the Korean War from 1950 to 1952 and was assigned to an artillery unit.  He was injured and had fond memories while recovering in Japan.

Farrell attended Utah State University and graduated as a Civil Engineer in May of 1956.  He understood and valued the importance of a good education.

Farrell married Wilma Jean Crocket in the Logan LDS Temple on September 20th, 1957.

Farrell was employed by Utah Power and Hill AFB as a Civil Engineer and was a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Utah.

He loved to work in the garden and enjoyed his service as a Utah State Master Gardener.  He loved helping family and neighbors with his gardening knowledge and worked 8 years on the gardens at the Salt Lake City Temple.

Farrell enjoyed being a scout leader and held many church callings.  He had many interests and loved to hunt deer and pheasants, fishing, and collecting western antiques, coins, and even old bottles.  He loved the performing arts and regularly attended the ballet, symphony, and stage performances.

Farrell is survived by his wife Wilma Jean, and his three children Lynette (Paul) Gines, Gary, Kaye (David – deceased) Nystrom.  Farrell’s lifetime joy was his 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.  He loved their visits and the time he spent with them.

Farrell was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Vern, and son-in-law David Nystrom.

A viewing will be held Friday, April 23rd from 6 to 8 PM at Russon Brothers mortuary in Bountiful (255 North Main, Bountiful, UT) and Saturday, April 24th from 9:45 to 10:45 AM at the Bountiful 9th and 31st Ward chapel (585 East Center St., Bountiful, UT) prior to funeral services starting at 11:00 AM in the same building.

Interment will be at the Lakeview Cemetery in Bountiful, UT.

Services will be streamed live on Russon Mortuary & Crematory Facebook page and www.russonmortuary.com., on this obituary.
