Bountiful, Utah. F. Brent Stock, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, passed away November 18, 2025, at the Welcome Home Memory Care Unit from complications of a fall in April, 2025, from which he never recovered. Brent was born on January 16, 1943, in Oakley, Idaho, to Forrest and Iris Jean Heiner Stock. The oldest of three children, Brent grew up with his younger brother, Theron, and his sister, Anita (Packer) enjoying summer vacations, learning to ski, spending time on his grandfather’s farm in Southern Idaho and playing little league baseball. His school years were busy with all sports, including basketball, football, track, and baseball. He excelled early in life—serving as both Senior Class President and Captain of the basketball team at Ogden High School, where he graduated in 1961.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Brent served faithfully in many callings as well as two and a half years in the Bavarian Mission headquartered in Munich, Germany. After returning home from his mission, he attended the University of Utah, where he met the love of his life, Janeece Taylor of Malad, Idaho. They were married January 15, 1969, in the Salt Lake Temple.
Brent graduated with a bachelor’s degree in German before being called again to serve—this time with the United States Air Force as a law enforcement specialist. He was stationed at Hill Air Force Base in Utah, Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona and served a year in Vietnam where he was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service and the Airman’s Medal for Heroism for saving a group of distressed swimmers.
While stationed in Vietnam, Brent continued sharing his testimony and effectively served a second mission, where he baptized several converts in the South China Sea strengthening the faith of those he taught. One of the highlights of his off-duty time was volunteering at three Vietnamese orphanages, where his heart went out to the many children in need. This compassion ultimately influenced his decision years later to adopt his daughter, Tauna, from Korea.
After returning home, Brent and Janeece made their home in Bountiful, Utah, where they raised their family. He was a proud and loving father to MeGarin, Brandon, Tiffany, and Tauna and was involved with their many activities. He especially loved being their soccer coach.
Brent built a long and steady career in the trucking industry, known for his strong work ethic and steady leadership. He was a Teamster working for Garrett Freightlines, Consolidated Freightways, and ANR Trucking.
In retirement, Brent could often be found enjoying the fairways at Eaglewood Golf Course where he mowed the greens and played as many rounds as he could handle. Retirement also brought the opportunity to travel and he and Janeece enjoyed visits to Hawaii, Mexico, Alaska, California, Germany, Italy, Austria and the East Coast church history sites as well as Washington, Pennsylvania, and New York. A stroke ended the traveling years but did not end the enjoyment of his senior years as a die-hard University of Utah sports fan where he was a member of the Crimson Club and rarely missed a chance to cheer on his beloved Utes.
He adored his five grandchildren—Brayden and Kohel Kellogg and Gabriel, Setera (Coleman), and Sadie (Wall) Stock, who brought him much joy.
He is survived by his wife Janeece, his children MeGarin (Rachel) Stock, Brandon (Treesa) Stock and Tauna (Nate) Kellogg, his five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that love him dearly. He is preceded in death by dear family members including his parents, Forrest and Iris Jean, his brother, Theron, and his daughter Tiffany.
