Evelyn Z. Jensen

Evelyn Z. Jensen was born in Iron County, Utah on May 16th 1937. She passed away peacefully on June 18th in Layton, Utah. 

Evelyn was the first of six born to Marvin E Jensen and Lucille (Stapley) Jensen. She was preceded by a half-brother, Leo from a previous marriage to her mother. Lucille's first husband passed away in a car accident shortly after Leo was born. Thus, making her the second child of seven in the Jensen family: Leo, Evelyn, Patrisha, LaWanna, Jack, LaDonna, and Larry. Leo, Jack, and LaDonna preceded Evelyn in death. 

She spent much of her early childhood battling polio and endured many difficult challenges in her life.

Her family moved from Cedar City to Bountiful, Utah in 1952, where Evelyn continued her schooling and graduated from Bountiful High.

Evelyn was married to Paul L Zesiger in 1956. Paul and Evelyn were sealed in 1958. They were later divorced. Paul passed away in 1982.Paul and Evelyn had four children together: Dale P Zesiger; Scot J Zesiger; Cindy R Zesiger (Stanger); and Guy L Zesiger. Cindy Stanger passed away in 2016.

Evelyn married Kay S Jensen in 1976 in Bountiful, Utah. Kay had four children: Trent Jensen, Nanette Jensen (deceased), Jennifer Jensen (deceased) and Christopher Jensen (deceased). Evelyn will always be remembered as a mother who loved and cherished her children and family. She did the very best she knew how raising them in very trying circumstances. 

She was sensitive to those in need and anyone she thought might need a little extra love. Mom will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. 

Now as she returns to the God who gave her life, she will once again by surrounded by many who have preceded her in death and can finally be whole and at peace. 

Services for Evelyn will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah, where a viewing will be held from 8:45-9:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be at the Lake View cemetery.
