Esther Williamsen Anderton

Esther succumbed to Alzheimer’s on December 11, 2022, at her home in Bountiful, Utah. She was born December 27, 1948, to Leland Clair and Yvonne Sandberg Williamsen in Ogden, Utah. Esther was a sweet loving and kind person. She learned service at a young age because her mother had polio. She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints and held many positions throughout her life.

She was sealed to her husband Donald Clay Anderton on September 1, 1970, in the Salt Lake City Temple. They both raised together 3 wonderful children, their first was Clay Williamsen (Mia) Anderton – Florida. There second was James Carter (Osmary) Anderton – Bountiful, Utah. Finally there youngest Caitlin Anderton (Matt) Saari  (deceased). She has 7 grandchildren and 3 siblings. Her siblings are Leland Claire (April) Williamsen (deceased), Joyce Williamsen (Gerald) Hunter – Boise, Idaho, and Barbra Williamsen (Rusty) Collins – Florida.

Esther graduated from Bountiful High School in 1967, where she was involved in music and played the base. She wrote for the school newspaper, and also participated in the Ski Club and the PEP Club. Esther graduated from University of Utah in 1972 in home economics. She worked for the Internal Revenue Service for 30 years and received many awards.

She enjoyed skiing, outdoors, traveling, playing games with family, and she took humanitarian trips to Ecuador. Esther’s personal motto she lived by was: “Through my generosity, sensitivity and compassion, I created an environment of unconditional love, spontaneous fun and meaningful dialogue, where others experience value and freedom.”

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Russon Mortuary, 295 N. Main Street, Bountiful, Utah. A viewing will be held 8:30-9:30 a.m. Wednesday morning at the mortuary before services. Interment will be at 12:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah. Food will be served afterward at 1:30 p.m. at the Woodland Hills Ward, 640 South 750 East, Bountiful, Utah.

Services will be streamed live on the Russon Mortuary & Crematory Facebook page and on this obituary page.  The live stream will begin about 10-15 minutes prior to the service and will be posted below.
