Cherished wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother Elsie Marie Bringhurst peacefully passed away on March 28th, 2026 at her home in Fruit Heights, Utah. She was born June 5, 1939, in Elko, Nevada to parents Forrest H Lessley and Thelma Andersen.
She married Kent B. Bringhurst on August 15, 1959, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Elsie always said she and Kent got off to a shaky start as they honeymooned in Yellowstone National Park which suffered the big earthquake two days later. Elsie and Kent were later baptized and then sealed in the Salt Lake Temple together with their children, Leslie, Stephanie (deceased) and Stacey on February 15, 1980.
Elsie served in many callings, mainly teaching Primary as she loved teaching children. She spent many years in a genealogy calling with Kent which she very much enjoyed. Elsie was called to be a Service Missionary on Temple Square.
She loved gardening and spent six years at Thanksgiving Point attaining an Advanced Master Gardener Certificate through Utah State University Extension Division.
She and Kent spent many years traveling throughout many areas of the world. Traveling was a large part of recreation for her and Yellowstone National Park and Alaska were her favorites. Elsie and Kent went to Yellowstone at least once each year of their 66 years of marriage. She loved all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family was a big part of her life.
She is survived by her husband, Kent, daughters Leslie (Mark) and Stacey, grandchildren Sasha (Ryan), Kate, Austin (Maddy), Braden (Chelsea), Brett and Samantha (Alberto) and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Stephanie.
