Eleanor Natalie "Bobbie" Booth Nelson

With heavy hearts and enduring love, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, wife, sister, and friend, Eleanor Natalie "Bobbie" Nelson, who peacefully departed this life on August 24, 2026, in Layton, Utah. She was surrounded by the love of her family and held in the arms of her two daughters and oldest granddaughter as she passed.Natalie was born on November 11, 1944, in Santa Maria, California, to Ernest and Eleanor Russell.

She spent her early years in California, where she met and married Glade Booth. After a brief time living in Reno, Nevada, the couple moved to Nephi, Utah, where they raised their older children. They later settled in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, where they made their home and raised their younger children. Following the end of their marriage, Natalie found love again and married Russell Nelson. Together they continued to live in Mt. Pleasant until July 2026, when Natalie moved to Abbington Assisted Living in Layton, Utah.

Natalie dedicated her life to caring for those she loved. She had a remarkable ability to see the good in everyone and welcomed all with warmth and compassion. Her smile brought reassurance, and her love knew no bounds. The ability she had to accept people as they were and offer grace without judgment was truly unmatched.

Throughout her life, Natalie embraced many roles, including devoted mother, grandmother,wife, caregiver, and friend. She worked tirelessly to support her family, holding a variety of jobs such as working in a sewing plant, serving as a waitress and cook, providing childcare in her home, and taking on many other responsibilities as needed. No matter the role, she approached every task with dedication, resilience, and a caring spirit.

Natalie found joy in life's simple pleasures and took great comfort in the beauty of the Salt Creek and Fairview Mountains. She enjoyed puzzles, word searches, and coloring, often spending peaceful hours devoted to these favorite pastimes. Above all, however, her greatest joy was her family.

She cherished collecting and displaying photographs of her children, grandchildren, relatives, and friends. Anyone who visited her home could be certain they would find their picture proudly displayed somewhere on her walls. She surrounded herself with reminders of the people she loved most.

Natalie is lovingly survived by her husband, Russell Nelson; her children, Frieda (Dave) Nattress, Anthony Booth, Rabyn (Brandon) Baker, and Ryan (Nikki) Booth; and her beloved niece, Zena Monji, who was like a daughter to her. She also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed by her love and influence.

She is also survived by her siblings, Raymond Tosti, Frieda (Stephen) Grey (her loving sister and best friend), and Sonny (Marlene) Russell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Eleanor Russell; her beloved eldest son, Ernie Booth; her siblings, Dolores Borrowman and Nickie Russell; and her precious great-granddaughters, Frieda and Jackie Higginson.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and staff at Abbington Assisted Living, Thatcher Brook Rehabilitation & Care Center, and Sequoia Hospice Care for the kindness, compassion, and care they provided during Natalie's final days. Their support brought comfort not only to Natalie but also to the family who loved her so dearly.

A celebration of Natalie’s life will be held at a later date with family and friends. Details will be shared when arrangements have been finalized, and all who knew and loved her will be welcome to join in honoring her memory.

Though our hearts are broken by her absence, we find comfort in the legacy of love, kindness, forgiveness, and compassion she leaves behind. Her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched and in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
