Elburn Wardell Kenison, 89, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather left this world Sunday October 16, 2005 due to causes incident to age. Elburn was born Nov. 1, 1915 to William Kenison and Mattie Wardell Kenison in Cowley Wyoming. Elburn?s young life was marked by the tragic deaths of his mother, sister, and brother. In spite of these and other challenges, he grew up to be a happy and optimistic man, always kind and patient with his family. He married Iris Tucker in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple June 15, 1943, and they became the parents of three children. Elburn pursued a career in accounting and retired from the Utah State Tax Commission in 1980. He was respected as a man of integrity and character by all who knew him. He was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served a mission to eastern Canada from 1937 to 1939. He was a member of the Bountiful 5th Ward. Elburn is survived by his wife, Iris; adopted sister, Louise Birch of Idaho Falls, daughter Norma Townsend of Price; sons Ivan JoAnn of West Jordan, and Clyde Diane of South Jordan; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; sister Klella; brother, Ivan; step-mother, Ethel Monk Kenison; and adopted sister, Sarah Herem. The family would like to extend their thanks to the South Davis Community Hospital nurses and staff for the care and concern they have provided to Elburn during the past several years. Family and friends may call Thursday, Oct. 20th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main St., Bountiful and Friday, Oct. 21st from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the LDS Ward Chapel at 990 North Chapel Dr 100 West, Bountiful.
