Elaine Facer Chadwick

Elaine Chadwick passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Creekside Assisted Living, shortly after celebrating her 90th birthday. She was born on May 16, 1936, in Ogden, Utah, to Vernal and Laurel Chase Facer.

Elaine attended Ogden High School for two years and was proud to be a member of the first graduating class of Ben Lomond High School in 1954. She remained connected with friends from her school years throughout her life. Elaine had a beautiful singing voice and especially enjoyed singing in church choirs.

She married Garey V. Chadwick in the Salt Lake Temple on May 23, 1958. They lived in Ogden until 1968, when they moved to Bountiful. Elaine was a devoted stay-at-home mother and also worked for several years at Brattens Cove and Copy Quick in Bountiful. Her greatest joys were being present at her children’s activities and accompanying Garey on his golf assignments.

Over the years, Elaine attended countless ball games, dances, and concerts in support of her children and grandchildren. She also made many treasured friends through the Utah Golf Association and the Utah Junior Golf Association while accompanying Garey during his many years of service.

Elaine spent the final seven years of her life at Creekside Assisted Living in Bountiful. She enjoyed the many activities there, especially dressing up for Disney cruises and holiday celebrations. She formed meaningful friendships with those who cared for her when her family could not be there. Those friendships meant the world to her and lifted her spirits, even on difficult days.

The family extends its deepest gratitude to the staff at Creekside Assisted Living and Ovation Hospice for the loving and devoted care they provided. They truly are angels among us.

Elaine is survived by her children, Doug (Crystal) Chadwick, Cherie (Jerry) Thompson, Kent (Susan) Chadwick, and Robert Chadwick; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren, with one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Garey V. Chadwick; her grandson, Mathew Thompson; her parents, Vernal and Laurel Facer; her sister, Jean Johnson; and her brothers, Lamar and John Facer.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah 84010.

A viewing will be held at Russon Mortuary on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. An additional viewing will be held on Saturday from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m., at the mortuary prior to the service.

Graveside services will be held at Willard City Cemetery, 550 North Main Street, Highway 89, Willard, Utah 84340.
