Edward Layne Wood

July 23, 1934 — April 1, 2011

Our beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather, and Friend passed away surrounded by his family, at home, on April 1, 2011, in Bountiful, Utah. He passed away from complications due to congestive heart failure. He was born in Holden, Utah on July 23, 1934 to Clayton Ashby Wood and Eva Louise Mckee. He graduated from Davis High School. He served his country in the Army Reserve for a period of 6 years. He attended the U of U, and earned his degree in Civil Engineering. He was employed with the Federal Government at the Forest Service in Ogden, Utah, where he worked for 40 years. He married Marjorie Joanne Beebe on February 5, 1965 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He won her heart through persistent loving deeds. Ted is survived by his wife of 46 years, Joanne; daughters, Wendy (Kent) Stanger, Christy (Jeff) Pearce, Nicole (Kevin) Green; and son, Lance Conway Wood; sister, Joan; and brother, Garn. He had 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Gwenn, Theron, and Geneil. The family would like to express a special thanks to the entire staff at Mountain Region Hospice for their loving care and concern at this time. Also to the many kindnesses shown from his ward family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the Mueller Park LDS Chapel, 1825 South 850 East, Bountiful. Friends may come to a viewing Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Thursday morning 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery. He was always concerned about others more than himself. We will remember him always. We love you Dad!
