Edna Jean Parker

Edna Jean Murphy Parker, age 85, our sweet, caring, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully on July 6, 2024 after a long, valiant battle with cancer.

During the last days of her life, she was surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren. 

She was born June 13, 1939 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Edna Ferris Williams Murphy and Linville Tharan Murphy. She married Philip Donald Parker on Feb. 11, 1960. 

She worked in the accounting department of Mountain Bell/US West/Qwest for 41 years. She was an avid shopper, reader, and enjoyed decorating her home for each holiday. She enjoyed socializing with friends, playing cards, going to the movies and the theater. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. 

She is proceeded in death by her parents; her brother, Don Murphy and his wife Lyn, brother-in-law Robert Parker and his wife Phyllis, sister-in-law Linda Young and her husband Boyd. 

She is survived by her husband Philip Parker, her children Patricia P. Thaxton (Kevin), Rachelle P. Taylor, Michael Parker (Andrea), Brooke Parker, 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 15, 2024 at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful where a viewing will be held Sunday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Monday morning 1 hour prior to services. Interment will be at Bountiful City Cemetery.
