Edith Paige Bassett Hawley, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2026, at the age of 83. Born June 29, 1943, in Delta, Utah, to Ralph Henry Bassett and Beulah Marie Petersen. She was raised on the family farm in Sutherland and graduated from Delta High School.
On September 29, 1964, Paige married the love of her life, Melvin J. Hawley Jr. They were later sealed for time and eternity in the Manti Temple. Together, they built a life centered around love, family, and faith.
Her greatest joy was her family. Paige was a devoted mother to her seven children: Sherri (Jim), Bud (Shelly), Rick (Stephanie), Ginger (Curtis), Mike (Chefi), Chad (Keidy), and Robyn (Tad). She loved each of them deeply and took great pride in their families and accomplishments.
Paige devoted her life to creating a loving home for her husband, children, and grandchildren. She loved Family Home Evenings, holiday parties, and celebrations at her home. She created traditions that brought everyone closer and filled their lives with laughter, love, and lasting memories. Her home was a place where family gathered, memories were made, and everyone felt loved and welcome.
Her greatest legacy lives on in the family she cherished and in the love, traditions, and example she passed down. She leaves behind a family who will miss her dearly, but who will carry her love and memory with them always.
Paige is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Jerry; her children and their spouses; 33 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Scott (Claudia). She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Jacquie, and brother Howard.
