Dorothy Eileen Porter Turnblom (81) was born November 28, 1943, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and passed away on September 14, 2025, due to complications from sepsis. She was born to Wendell Carroll and Margaret Louise (Cardall) Porter. Eileen and her only sibling, Bill, shared the same birth date. He was 4 years older. She grew up and lived most of her life in Centerville, Utah.
She met her future spouse, Sylvan Arthur Turnblom, when she was sixteen. She waited for him while he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on December 6, 1963, and were later blessed with three children.
Eileen learned as a young child the art of service. When she was 7 years old, her brother became seriously ill. She would give him rides on her trike around the house when he was unable to be very active. She continued to serve those around her the remainder of her life. One of her favorite acts of service was her weekly assignment in the Bountiful Temple laundry department, which she did for over 20 years.
After Eileen graduated High School, she began working at Bountiful State Bank. She always told her children she wanted to work so she could pay tithing. She was always a great example of living the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
She also worked at Lund Floral and Hepworth Floral and was very talented at making floral arrangements.
She loved being involved with family history and indexing. Eileen and Syl served many years as Ward Family History Consultants. She also served in the Primary and as a Ward Librarian.
Eileen's main hobby was serving her family. She also enjoyed baking, canning, painting ceramics, knitting, crocheting and sewing. One morning she decided she wanted a new dress for an activity that evening – and she got it done in time.
Eileen was a very dedicated wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma. You would always find her supporting her family in the many important events and activities they chose to do.
Eileen is survived by her children Christine (Timothy) Wilson, Bradley (Ronda) Turnblom, and Jennifer Turnblom. She is also survived by her grandchildren Briahna (Derek) Nelson, Kailie (Christopher) Ward, Adam Wilson, Jacob Wilson, Makelle Wilson, Nickoli (Joshua) Godfrey, Bryon Dalrymple, Erin (Carl) Quist, and David Dalrymple, and 9 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, and granddaughter, Emily Dalrymple.
