Doris Bridget Twitchell

December 22, 1934 — May 28, 2025

Bountiful, UT

Doris Bridget Twitchell passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, May 28, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born December 22, 1934, in San Francisco, California, to Charles and Vilda Sessions Bridget. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Orem, Utah, and then attended 1 year of school at LDS business college.

Through a friend (Ardeth) at school she met her sweetheart, Grant Lynn Twitchell. They were married June 26, 1953, in the Manti Temple. After Grant Lynn ended his time in the Air Force, they made their family home in Kearns and North Salt Lake with their 7 sons.

Doris was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-fay Saints and served in many positions. She especially loved her time serving in the Guide Patrol, Relief Society and Young Women, and spending time at Girl’s Camp.

Once the boys were all raised and Grant Lynn retired, Grant and Doris moved to Hurricane, Utah. They loved their time in southern Utah where Doris served with Grant Lynn on missions to the St. George Bishop’s Storehouse and Hurricane Stake Farm. Doris was an avid supporter of Grant Lynn in his Senior Olympic events and his desire to drive all the back roads in Utah. Doris always had a picnic lunch packed for their adventures and only asked, “Where are we going?”

Doris loved participating in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers organization and the Mother’s Luncheons. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and always had a treat and a puzzle to entertain them with. Doris spent many hours completing puzzles and doing all types of handiwork. Many friends and family have been recipients of her beautiful cross-stitched items. She always prioritized getting the family together for any holiday with plenty of food. Her scones were legendary.

Survivors include sons, Richard (Barbara), Dean (Collette), Leland, and Neil (Shauna), daughter-in-law Mary Ann, 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 2 sisters, Sue Wilberg and Vickie Bridget. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Grant Lynn, 3 sons, Brian, Gary and Wayne, and 1 sister Jean.
