Donna Andersen Prisbrey

Donna Andersen Prisbrey was born June 29, 1930, in Brigham City, Utah to Hazel Burt and James Earl Andersen. Her siblings were Dorothy (Dot), Earl and Ellen. Their father died in a Utah Department of Transportation accident when Donna was 12 years.

Donna graduated from Box Elder High School in Brigham City in 1948 as valedictorian. She graduated from McKay Dee Nursing school in Ogden in 1951.

Donna married Dilworth Prisbrey, who was also from Brigham City, also in 1951. The newlyweds lived in various places during their first years together, including an air force deployment to the island of Guam in the south Pacific. They returned to Utah for a few years, then settled in Southern California where Dilworth worked at NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena until retirement.

Donna was the heart and spiritual anchor of the home. She taught Primary and Sunday School various times. She served individuals as Relief Society President, spending hours on the phone listening to those who needed to talk and hours working to meet people's needs.

Donna's homes were gathering places for both extended families and neighborhoods.

Donna was an excellent cook, seamstress, and artist. Her homes were decorated with her prolific works.

Donna taught her strong work ethic to her sons, Mike, Rick, Gary and Doug.

Donna stayed in Southern California for years after retirement helping to raise Rick and Gary's children.

Dilworth passed away in 1998 and was buried in Brigham City. After Dilworth's passing, Donna moved to Bountiful, Utah and created a grandma hotel where she continued to gather family and friends.

Donna Passed away at age 95 on April 2, 2026.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Brigham City Cemetery, 300 East 300 South, Brigham City, Utah.
