Donald Lynn Muhlestein, 72, of Kaysville, Utah passed away on April 20, 2026. He was a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He was born on February 1, 1954, in Provo, Utah to Don and Bettie Muhlestein. He was the oldest of eight children. He grew up in Payson, Utah, and had an active and happy childhood. During high school football games, Lynn would suit up to play right guard and then quickly change at halftime to play saxophone in the marching band.
He served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hamburg/Berlin, Germany. Upon returning home, he attended a fireside where he met Becky Warr. He quickly fell for her, and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on January 16, 1976.
Lynn & Becky built a home in Payson and soon welcomed five children. In 1989, Lynn took a job opportunity that took the family north to Kaysville, Utah where they settled permanently.
Lynn spent his time with his family traveling, flying RC airplanes, building Lego sets with his grandchildren, camping, and capturing moments with a camera. He was an exceptional baker and loved to barbecue for his family and enjoy meals together. His burgers, steak, ribs, bread, sourdough, and rolls were legendary staples at family gatherings.
He was a faithful servant of God and served in many capacities in the church including Bishop and in the Stake Presidency. He cherished time spent as an ordinance worker and sealer in the Layton Temple, while serving with his wife. He had strong faith in and a testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Lynn is preceded in death by his parents Don & Bettie, his brother Larry, his son Michael, and is survived by his wife Becky, daughters Kirsten (Jed), Karlee (Nate), Andrea (Deven), Ashlee (Dan), daughter-in-law Lindsay and seventeen grandchildren.
