Dolores Winegar Seifert

June 8, 1931 — February 23, 2018

Dolores Winegar Seifert, born June 8, 1931 in West Bountiful, Utah to Keith LeRoy and Marjorie Parkin Winegar peacefully passed away Friday, February 23, 2018. She grew up in West Bountiful and Bountiful, the oldest of five siblings who all survive her (Carolyn, Anita, Corwyn and Alayne). After graduating from Davis High School, she graduated from the University of Utah in Education. She taught school in Clearfield, before moving to Europe to continue teaching school for many years in the DODDS (American schools on U.S. military bases). She married Elwood Paul Seifert in Basel, Switzerland on July 19, 1955. Their family was later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. They lived in Europe for more than 35 years where their children were born and raised. Dolores loved living and traveling all over Europe, and especially enjoyed their time living in Italy and Morocco. Being a member of the German-American Cooking Club brought her tremendous joy. She retired to Centerville, Utah, bringing many treasures from Europe to always remind her of living there. She especially loved opera and classical music. She loved going to the theatre and to the symphony. She was an avid reader. She was a great cook and loved hosting dinner parties and gatherings, serving meals and desserts made from scratch. With all of her siblings living in Utah, she enjoyed spending time and going to dinner with them. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was generous and kind and loved her family and the church. She is survived by her children Niles (Patricia) Seifert, Marisa Seifert (Lyn Kalawaia) and Monique McCullum (Charlene Mims).  She also leaves behind four beloved grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her infant son Derek, her husband and parents.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 2 at 11 a.m. at the Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, where family and friends may greet the family from 10:30 to 11:00 am. Interment will be in the Bountiful City Cemetery.
