Dixie H. Wilcox

Our beloved and angelic mother was reunited with her sweetheart, Paul on August 31, 2026. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She passed away due to complications from surgery, slipping away quickly and quietly.

Born January 30, 1936, in Daniel, Utah, Dixie was the oldest daughter to Charles Wendell Howe and Eunice Swain Howe. She was married for time and eternity to Paul Hawkes Wilcox on May 24, 1956, in the Salt Lake Temple.

She was a wonderful and loving companion to Paul for 36 years prior to his passing in 1992. Their marriage was a true partnership, and they worked side by side in the home and in Paul’s business for many years. They made important decisions together and loved spending time together. They were the proud parents of Wendy, Paula, Alicia and Mark, whom they absolutely adored. Their home was filled with gospel principles, culture, music, great food, love and laughter.

Dixie’s life was characterized by endless service, not only as a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to members of her ward, but to her family and many friends. She was truly a charitable person and always put the needs of others before her own. She chose to listen to the promptings of the Spirit and patterned her life after the teachings of the Savior, serving all those with whom she came into contact. Her loving acceptance of everyone created a warm and welcoming atmosphere in her home and her heart.

She was masterful with her hands and created beauty with them. This was exemplified through many ways including her career as a beautician, her amazing cooking abilities, and accomplishments as a seamstress and gardener.

Despite many challenges in her life, Dixie radiated a positive attitude, and people were naturally attracted to her because of this as well as the impact she made in their lives. She valued family above all else and supported her children and grandchildren in all their endeavors.

She leaves behind a large posterity including, Wendy Wilcox Marble (Paul), Paula Wilcox Childs (Lane), Alicia Wilcox Miller, Mark Howe Wilcox (Adrielle Herring), 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren with 1 additional expected in 2027. She is also survived by her brother, Brent Howe (Linda).

She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul, her parents, her sister Judy Baxter, and her son-in-law, Arthur J. Miller.

Friends may call Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Russon Mortuary Bountiful, 295 N. Main Street, Bountiful, Utah, from 6 :00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at Bountiful Mueller Park Stake Center, 1800 Mueller Park Road, Bountiful, Utah.
