Derrel George Muir

October 4, 1926 — April 10, 2019

Derrel George Muir, husband, father, grandfather, and brother left his earthly home in Centerville, Utah on April 10th, 2019. Derrel was born on October 4th, 1926 in Bailey Creek, Idaho to Clarence and Rhoda Muir. He was raised in Grayslake, Idaho. Derrel attended a one room school house through the 8th grade. He graduated from Logan High in 1943. Derrel married Eldean Petersen on June 14th, 1948 in the Logan, Utah temple. This marriage was blessed with four children Clarence Derrel (Dawn), Todd Warren, Elray George (Connie), and Sydette Sherilyn (Norman). Derrel was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had many callings in the church. He worked at Hill Air Force Base for 30 years. His greatest loves were family and church. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Clarence and Gayworth. He is survived by his wife Eldean, his 4 children, 28 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great-grandchildren, his brother Merlyn “John” (Lucy) and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 20, 2019 at the Centerville 3rd Ward, 900 South 400 East, Centerville, Utah.  Viewings will be held, Friday, April 19, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah, and from 12:45 to 1:45 pm at the church prior to the service.
